Grief and loss often underpin the reasons people seek counselling.
You may associate grief with the death of a loved one – and this type of loss does often cause the most intense grief – however – any loss can cause grief and impact on your well-being. Grief can result from a loss of health; death of a pet; moving home; ending a relationship; recognising the loss of youth; loss of friendship; the acknowledgement that a dream may not be realised.
While there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy ways to cope with the pain and talking to a counsellor can help.
